If you want to study Spanish in Granada, the Spanish Language and Culture Course is aimed at students and professionals who wish to acquire a wider knowledge of Spanish whilst learning about some of the main features of Spanish history and culture.
Courses are offered in Spanish language, Literature, Geography, History, Art History, Culture, and Economics.
The course is taught in two periods – October to December (Fall) and from February to May (Spring) and consists of 225 hours.
Extra-curricular activities, cultural visits and cultural activities are also available.
Tution – € 1,721 / * per semester.
The fee includes the course tuition and the registration fee. Additional classes can be added for € 592 each.
Housing – € 250 / * per mo.
Expect to pay around € 250 per month for a room in a shared student apartment.

Students in the Spanish Language and Culture course choose four or five subjects from those offered by the University of Granada’s Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM) for each period.
Each subject in the Spanish Language and Culture Course has 45 teaching hours and a regular weekly timetable in line with the general schedule programmed by CLM.

Apartments and rooms in shared houses
This option is managed directly by a third party company called Aluni. CLM has a collaboration agreement with them that allows you to get a 20% discount in the handling fee of the rental contract. Please fill out this form requesting a supporting document which you need to present to receive the discount.
Accommodation with families
This type of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board) and laundry once a week. Students can have either a single or double room.
A stay longer than 15 days is paid per month.
These are commercial establishments which provide accommodation to both national and foreign students. The minimum stay is a complete academic year (October-June) except in summer when reservations can be made for days or months.
Eligibility / How to Enroll
To register, visit the registration page and fill out the registration form for the program you are interested in. Then send in the registration form by email or fax, along with proof of payment (as instructed in the registration form).
There is no minimum required GPA. Recommendation letters are not required. The minimum age for enrollment is 16.
To take this course, students require prior knowledge of Spanish (intermediate). (See specifications of level test). CLM recommends students take an Intensive Spanish Language Course (CILE) in September or January before beginning the Spanish Language and Culture Course.
Students who successfully complete a Spanish Language and Culture Course in the Fall can then enroll in the Hispanic Studies Course in the spring. Those who have completed ten subjects in total (Spanish Language and Culture Course in the Fall and Hispanic Studies Course in Spring) will be entitled to receive the Diploma in Hispanic Studies.
Those students with lower levels of Spanish, between level A1 (beginner) to B1.1 (intermediate), can do the two obligatory subjects from Spanish Language (Speaking and Writing Skills and Spanish Grammar) and complete the rest of the course in English.
